Trade Dimensions is a division of ACNielsen Homescan & Spectra. Our directories and data services have over 90% penetration of the Consumer Packaged Goods industry, and are the most trusted information products for shopping center developers, managers, and leasing representatives as well.
What do we do? With an impeccable lineage as the former Progressive Grocer database, Trade Dimensions has been tracking the evolution of the supermarket industry for over .35 years. Two decades ago we began branching out into other retail classifications, and we have never looked back. Our Retail Site Database acts as the base template of store locations for Spectra's Consumer Targeting applications, and is the foundation upon which the TDLinx numbering system is built. Besides publishing directories and producing electronic directory systems for business information use, we also provide the most accurate retail site data available to many of the leading food and non-food manufacturers, investment firms and service suppliers in the U.S.
Where do we get our data? Every company profile you find in our directories and electronic directory systems .is created and updated by direct company contact at least annually and often semi-monthly. Yes, every profile. Mailings, telephone calls, faxes, e-mail—all to make sure our information is the most accurate available at any price. Our editors, industry analysts and researchers monitor information from sources as diverse as the 24-hour newswire, newspaper clipping services, the Internet, trade/industry publications and even the proverbial grapevine. More importantly, they are all knowledgeable retail experts who sift and blend these various sources into an information package you can rely on.
Furthermore, all our products are at least partially supported by our retail site database, a one-of-a-kind source of information which operates on a store-by-store level. Ask our competitors if they can say the same. Trade Dimensions Retail Site Database currently contains the point locations of over 365,000 retail sites in the US, and that number continues to grow as we expand our coverage into additional retail categories. We make millions of changes to that database every year (on a daily basis) in a concerted effort to monitor every store closing, opening, merger, acquisition and sale that occurs in the most dynamic business segment there is.
